It’s Not Believable

How do you achieve big goals that you can’t even believe?

Quick answer: you don’t.

You’ve experienced it. Whether it’s an unexpected promotion at work, a financial windfall, or (like me) earning enough credits for a high school diploma, it’s unbelievable at first.

In those first few moments, you’re in shock. You simply cannot accept it.

Then, sometime between the next hour and the next day, the unbelievable becomes your new reality.

So here’s the secret.

If you have something big you want to accomplish, you must make yourself believe. Do this by reducing it to the point of “just believable” and mentally sit with it for a while. Put it on your bathroom mirror and in your car. What would it look like, feel like, and be like? How would life change?

Again push the finish line further to the point of just believable. What does this new reality feel like?

Leverage your newfound belief into creating action steps toward your target.

“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” – Joan of Arc
