The Same Person in 5 Years

John Wooden said “Five years from now, you’re the same person except for the people you’ve met and the books you’ve read.

Books are a bargain. For $15 (or free at a library), you get access to ideas and thoughts that can change your life, from people who’ve spent a lifetime on a subject. From adventure stories to poetry, fiction to nonfiction, books impact your life.

The people you meet. Introvert or extrovert, socialite or social recluse, people have a huge effect on your life. Real relationships matter more than ever in a time of countless Facebook “friends” and LinkedIn connections.

What books have made a difference in your life? Share them with others. And pick up another book today. Here’s a list of books that I go to frequently. https://sivers.org/book

Which people have inspired you? Write them a note to tell them how much you appreciate them. Then make an effort to meet someone new.

The person that you are in five years will thank you.
