I’m going fishing with my children this morning. We’ll bring poles, a selection of bait, and about 10 pounds of assorted tackle for various water depths, temperatures, feeding patterns, and underwater structure.
But there are only two ways to fish.
The first way, the way I used to fish, is to get the line in the water and choose to be happy only when the first fish is caught. My son fishes like this.
The second way, the way my daughter taught me how to fish, is to be happy from the beginning, catch fish (or not), and enjoy the entire process.
Abraham Lincoln said that folks are as happy as they make their minds up to be.
I’ll bet he was going fishing.
